What is Polymer Clay??
Polymer Clay is marketed under brand names like Premo!, Sculpey, Fimo, and Kato PolyClay. It is a relatively new medium that is taking the art and craft world by storm! The clay comes in 2oz or 1lb blocks in a variety of different colors. You can blend colors together to make the shade you need. Polymer Clay is like working with a slightly stiffer version of PlayDoh that never dries out. It can be worked with anything from simple tools to anything you would use with ceramic tools. There is none of the mess that you have with ceramic tools and you don't need an expensive kiln to fire the clay in. To finish a project, you simply bake the clay in an oven or small toaster oven at 275 degrees Fahrenheit for about 30 to 60 minutes depending on the size of your project. It can be sanded, painted, molded, twisted, and shaped just about any way you can think of.
