What is Stained Glass??
Stained Glass has been around for hundreds of
years. We have classes for both the "traditional" leaded stained glass
method as well as the "Tiffany" copper foil method. The traditional
leaded method uses strips of lead with a channel that the edge of the
glass fits into. The copper foil method wraps the edge of each piece of
glass with a 7/32" wide strip of copper foil. The pieces are then
butted together and all the seams are soldered together. It sounds more
complicated than it really is.
Information on our classes
Don't want to make a big investment in tools for a hobby you might not
want to continue? No problem. Our classes include
the use of tools to make the projects. You only need to select and
purchase the materials for the class. When we took classes in stained
glass, we bought all kinds of tools we didn't need. Learn from our
mistakes. We (obviously) would like to sell you everything you need to
make your project, but don't want you to feel like you bought a bunch
of stuff you didn't need.
When classes are not being held, you can schedule studio time and make
use of our equipment until you decide that you want to get more
involved with your new hobby.
